Hey everyone,
So this week is
transfers and so I will be losing my comp Elder Johnson and my new comp will be
a guy named Elder Magee. I'm excited to see what this next transfer brings.
This week we were able
to have a few cool lessons, one of which was with our investigator B, who l
think I mentioned last week. He is a cool guy from Puerto Rico that we taught
for the first time last week. And this Sunday when we went to see him, we had a
great lesson on the Book of Mormon with him and his wife/girlfriend. It coo,l
cuz again, he was asking a lot of questions and when we explained a bit of the
story of Nephi and others in the Book of Mormon, he asked us if it ever meets
back up with the Bible stories after some time. We told him no, but that there
were prophecies in the Book of Mormon that mentioned that both the Bible and
the Book of Mormon would be used together. Then we showed him Mormon 7:8 as
well as Ezekiel 37:16-17. He thought that was pretty cool; and when we asked
him what it would mean to him if the book was true- he said that he knew if the
book was true that this was the right path to direct him towards Christ and the
truth.
Another fun thing that
happened this week was that one of our investigators (M) referred us to her
sister in law (K) that lived in the same group of apartments, but she
told us she didn't want us to tell K that she sent us. So we went over to talk
to K and see if she was interested and when we knocked on the door she came out
and when we did our approach and asked if she had time for a message she told
us no, but then she started talking to us about how M has told her great things
about us and that she would like to sit in on our next lesson with M since K’s
husband might be against hearing the message. So we are excited to see how our
next lesson with them goes.
And yeah that was our
week, I hope you have a great week!
Elder Porter
