Hey everyone,
We had another pretty
good week here in Lafayette. We had a good lesson with our investigator J this
week where we taught him the first half of the plan of salvation. It is super
awesome to teach him because all of his own knowledge about the scriptures and
all his personal opinions that he has formed through study seem to coincide
with what we teach him. It always seems like when we teach him a principle, he
will tell us a story or a scripture from the Bible that supports what we say. It
is awesome. He has also been reading the Book of Mormon and has enjoyed what he
has learned so far.
The sad news from this
week is that B moved out of our area and into the Texas mission, we are sending
his information over to the Elders serving there, so we hope that he continues
to get visits from missionaries, and that he continues to progress. We were
really sad to see him go though.
We also had a fun
experience with Walmart this week. We were walking through the parking lot after shopping for a bit, and we
have this random red truck honk at us.
We just assumed it was cuz we were in their way; so we moved to the side
of the lane and started to put our groceries in the car. Then this lady pulls
up next to us and asked us what we do and so we told her we were missionaries. She
pretty much asked us to invite her to church and asked for our number so we
could send her the address of the church, and maybe come teach her! It was
super cool and we are going to for sure try to meet with her this week.
Also in my mission we
have been doing a 90 day Book of Mormon challenge where we need to go through
the whole book and highlight all the passages that talk about the 5 basic
principles in the gospel of Jesus Christ (faith, repentance, baptism, gift of
the holy ghost, endure to the end) It has been super awesome! I have been
amazed especially with the number of times having faith in Christ is mentioned
in that book. It is a really big testimony that the Book of Mormon really is
here to help us draw closer to him and know that we really can rely on him in
all the hard time of our lives.
I hope y’all have an
awesome week!!
